Anthropic deployed on August 24 an optimization of Claude’s streaming response renderer, available on web and desktop applications. The improvements include four times smoother streaming for long answers, a ninefold reduction in stalls on slower laptops, and a 4.5-fold decrease in worst-case freezes. On compatible hardware like 120 Hz MacBooks, the renderer can now sustain 120 frames per second. This optimization targets the presentation layer exclusively: models, API, and generation quality remain unchanged. It could particularly benefit professional users with standardized, older hardware.
