Bitcoin (BTC) is stabilizing around $77,000 after a 22% rise over seven days, but three major macroeconomic events could influence its price this week in the United States. On Wednesday, August 26, the core PCE inflation index for July is expected at 3.2%, slightly down from the previous 3.3%, while the second estimate of US GDP for Q2 should confirm annualized growth of only 1.5%, down from 2.1% in Q1. On Friday, August 28, new Fed Chair Kevin Warsh will deliver his first major speech at the Jackson Hole symposium, in a context of benchmark rates held between 3.5% and 3.75% and elevated bond yields (4.7% for the 10-year, above 5.2% for the 30-year). Key technical levels to watch for BTC are support at $75,200 and resistance at $79,500.
