Kyber Network has formally stated that neither it nor its KyberSwap platform operates from Singapore and does not fall under the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s jurisdiction. This clarification comes as Singapore’s Digital Token Service Provider regulatory framework takes effect on June 30, 2025, imposing licensing requirements on locally incorporated entities. Kyber Network Pte. Ltd., registered in Singapore since July 13, 2017, argues that its decentralized and non-custodial architecture distinguishes it from entities targeted by this regulation. The platform has processed over $20 billion in cumulative trading volume since its launch. This strategy aims to demonstrate that the protocol operates in a sufficiently decentralized manner to avoid Singapore’s regulatory reach.
