Pakistan has ordered crypto-asset platforms to apply for a license by September 5 or cease operations in the country. The Pakistani regulator (PVARA) opened an application portal on August 22, following the Virtual Assets Act taking effect on March 5. Businesses already operating in the market can continue to operate during the review process, but PVARA may impose interim restrictions on new user onboarding, products, transaction volumes, or asset custody. Platforms that fail to file an application on time must stop the affected services. Binance and HTX had already obtained a no-objection certificate in December 2025 and can now apply directly for a full license.
