Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, is advocating for the CLARITY Act, a bipartisan bill aimed at establishing a clear regulatory framework for digital assets in the United States. The legislation, formally known as the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025, divides oversight responsibilities between the SEC and CFTC and includes consumer protections designed to prevent future collapses similar to FTX. The bill passed the House in July 2025 and cleared the Senate Banking Committee earlier in 2026, with a full Senate vote scheduled for September 15, 2026. Armstrong predicts the bill will garner over 60 Senate votes, citing 70 percent public support for clearer crypto regulations. If passed, it would represent the most significant piece of crypto-specific legislation in US history.
