MANTRA Chain remained offline on Aug. 21 after an attacker exploited a vulnerability in an upstream dependency. Transactions, transfers, and staking are unavailable while the mainnet remains paused. Patched release v8.4.0 is undergoing testing on the DuKong testnet before validators can coordinate a mainnet restart. The team confirmed user funds were unaffected by the halt itself, but the full asset impact of the attacker’s activity remains unconfirmed. The restart was contingent on successful patch testing and the wider validator set being ready for the coordinated upgrade.
