Jim Cramer says he sold all Bitcoin holdings amid quantum computing concerns

Jim Cramer, host of CNBC’s Mad Money, announced he sold all his Bitcoin holdings a few weeks ago, citing quantum computing as the threat after speaking with Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM, who suggested quantum computers could compromise Bitcoin’s cryptography within three to four years. Bitcoin’s price nonetheless rose from roughly $64,000 to above $74,000 between early August and August 21, a gain of more than 15 %, illustrating the phenomenon known as the « Inverse Cramer effect » in trading circles. Most cryptography researchers consider the three-to-four-year timeline optimistic, placing the realistic threat window at 20 to 40 years. No verifiable evidence confirms Cramer actually sold his holdings, with no on-chain transactions or public filings to support his claims.
