Tesla plans to soon launch its Cybercab in Austin, Texas. Nevada’s transportation authority approved Tesla, Uber Technologies and Waymo to offer commercial robotaxi services in Clark County. The county is home to Las Vegas and about 2.4 million residents. Combined, the companies are authorized to deploy up to 7,000 autonomous vehicles in the county over the next 12 months. Tesla’s stock price jumped in this context.
