Predictive markets platform Polymarket has filed an appeal with French courts to challenge the decision by the Autorité nationale des jeux (ANJ) ordering a complete block of its website in France. In November 2024, Polymarket had voluntarily implemented geoblocking to comply with regulator requests, but the ANJ escalated its actions until imposing a complete block through internet service providers in July 2025. The company claims it is open to dialogue and describes its exchanges with French authorities as constructive. France is not the only country affected, as the Czech Republic has also ordered the blocking of Polymarket and the platform faces legal action in the United States.
