Circle plans to launch the public mainnet of its Arc blockchain on September 16, opening it to users and applications while keeping block production within a permissioned validator set. The network has already processed over 500 million testnet transactions and nearly 3 million wallets. The validator set includes Circle and 11 founding validators such as BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, Standard Chartered, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation and Galaxy. Transaction fees will be denominated in USDC and the network will be compatible with Ethereum’s application environment. If launched as planned, Arc would transition from a test environment to public operation with real value.
