U.S. bond yields are already surging again a day after Bessent’s debt-buyback plan

U.S. bond yields have resumed their upward trajectory following the brief respite provided by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s plan to control long-term interest rates. This plan was immediately thwarted as the U.S. national debt crossed the $40 trillion mark. Oil prices also surged amid tensions related to the war in Iran, adding inflationary pressures to the markets.
