Chainlink’s McCormick envisions AI-driven blockchain transactions in a multi-chain future

Andrew McCormick, appointed head of institutional and market development at Chainlink Labs on June 4 after running eToro’s US operations, believes artificial intelligence will make launching new blockchains extremely inexpensive, proliferating chains and creating massive demand for interoperability. Chainlink’s CCIP protocol enables cross-chain token transfers and messaging with a verification layer powered by its existing oracle network, addressing the liquidity fragmentation problem for financial institutions. Chainlink is already collaborating with DTCC, which processes the vast majority of US securities transactions, and J.P. Morgan’s blockchain unit Kinexys, demonstrating concrete institutional interest. McCormick’s mandate includes engaging US banks and asset managers on blockchain integration, developing strategies for tokenized asset adoption, and running educational programs for financial decision-makers.
