Wang Xingxing, founder of Unitree, said at the World Robot Conference in Beijing that humanoid robots will reach their ChatGPT moment between 2028 and 2036, within a 2 to 10 year window. This decisive milestone would correspond to a robot’s ability to enter an unknown household and complete approximately 80% of daily tasks solely from text or voice instructions. Unitree made its debut on the Shanghai Stock Exchange with an opening price up 629% from the IPO price, before retreating 19% the following day to close at 687 yuan.
