The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has imposed a five-year trading ban on Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda, and Gary Wang, co-founder of FTX. This supplemental order was issued by the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Ellison faces an additional 10 years before she can re-register with the CFTC, while Wang must wait eight years. Both must continue cooperating with the regulator. Ellison was sentenced to two years in prison in September 2024 and released in January 2026, while Wang received three years of supervised release with no prison time.
