BlackRock clients invested approximately $143.57 million in a single day in the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), the asset manager’s spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund. In August 2026, IBIT captured $693 million out of the $853 million in total spot Bitcoin ETF inflows in the United States, representing an 81% market share. The fund dominates the segment against competing offerings from Fidelity, Ark Invest and other players. BlackRock manages roughly $10 trillion in assets globally, giving it a structural advantage through its existing relationships with institutional investors. These flows are facilitated by authorized participants who create new ETF shares backed by Bitcoin held in custody, notably through Coinbase Prime.
