Cypherpunk has launched a Zcash (ZEC) mining fleet now controlling 18% of the network’s hashrate. Despite a recent correction, ZEC is up more than 1,300% over the past twelve months. The Zcash network also underwent its Ironwood upgrade on July 28, introducing a new shielded transaction protocol to replace the Orchard pool. A flaw affecting Orchard had been discovered, potentially allowing the creation of counterfeit ZEC within the shielded pool without immediate detection, although no exploitation was observed.
