Klarna Group reported its second consecutive profitable quarter, released on August 18. In the first quarter of 2026, the Swedish fintech generated revenue of $1.0 billion, a 44% year-over-year increase, while its gross merchandise volume reached $33.7 billion, up 33%. Adjusted operating profit came in at $68 million, compared to just $3 million a year earlier. For the second quarter, Klarna guided GMV between $35.5 billion and $36.5 billion, with revenue expected in the range of $960 million to $1.0 billion. Present in 26 markets, the company is diversifying beyond buy-now-pay-later with financing plans, peer-to-peer payments and partnerships with Apple and J.P. Morgan.
