The Ethereum Foundation has launched Platåberget, a public testnet dedicated to the Glamsterdam upgrade, with a fork scheduled for August 20, 2026. This upgrade introduces ePBS (EIP-7732), which embeds proposer-builder separation directly into the protocol, reducing reliance on external MEV-Boost relays. It also includes Block Access Lists (EIP-7928) to enable parallel transaction execution and a significant increase in the gas limit, potentially reaching 200 million units. The maximum contract deployment size will grow from 24 to 64 KiB. Mainnet deployment is planned for the second half of 2026.
