Why this popular Treasury-bond ETF is trading at its lowest since 2004

The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF fell to $81.35 on Monday, its lowest closing level since June 14, 2004, according to Dow Jones Market Data. This decline of about 0.8% is part of a prolonged sell-off in long-term bond markets. Large federal deficits and growing corporate borrowing for AI are reducing investor demand for long-term U.S. government bonds. The fund, traded under the ticker TLT, has recently become notorious for its ability to burn investors trying to call a market bottom.
