Raphinha, the 29-year-old Brazilian winger, has been appointed as the first captain of FC Barcelona. He arrived from Leeds United in the summer of 2022 and has made 177 appearances for the Catalan club. Initially the fourth-choice captain for the 2024/25 season, he moved up the hierarchy due to the loan departures of Marc-André ter Stegen and Ronald Araujo, as well as Frenkie de Jong’s knee injury.
