Binance plans to apply for a licence with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom, five years after being banned in 2021. The application window opens on September 30, 2026 and closes on February 28, 2027, with full implementation on October 25, 2027. Between January 2020 and May 2022, the FCA received 273 crypto registration applications and approved only 35, representing a 12.8 percent approval rate. Binance must establish a UK presence and submit its entire global structure to a full assessment, a major hurdle for the exchange that paid more than $4.3 billion to US authorities in November 2023 for anti-money laundering and sanctions violations.
