Alibaba Cloud has launched Fun-Music, an AI model capable of generating complete songs including lyrics, melody, arrangement, and vocals from simple text prompts. The model is currently available in limited preview through Alibaba Cloud’s Model Studio, restricted to users in the China (Beijing) region, supporting both Chinese and English with outputs in MP3 or WAV formats. Fun-Music builds on the FunAudioLLM framework, whose foundational project InspireMusic was open-sourced in early 2025. Two variants are offered, fun-music-v1 and fun-music-preview, with options for male or female vocals. This launch places Alibaba in an increasingly competitive AI music generation space alongside Suno, Udio, Google MusicLM, and Meta MusicGen.
