Dutch Prosecutors Sell $2.5M of Crypto From Bankrupt Platform Knaken

Dutch prosecutors have sold cryptocurrency seized from Knaken, a bankrupt Dutch crypto platform, raising $2.5 million (2.2 million euros) for creditors. Court-appointed trustee Carl Hamm estimates customers deposited between $12 million and $14 million (10 to 12 million euros) on the platform, which operated without the license required by the Dutch markets regulator. Approximately 6,300 customers are affected by this bankruptcy. A lawyer disputes whether prosecutors had the right to sell these assets, arguing customers may be the rightful owners. The investigation also revealed that founder Ronald J. transferred $2.7 million to a company he controlled.
