Kangaroo, panda, and dim sum bond sales all hit records in 2026, according to data cited by Reuters. Kangaroo bonds surpassed 42 billion US dollars, up 40 percent year-on-year. Panda and dim sum bond sales exceeded 160 and 350 billion yuan respectively, marking gains of more than 60 percent. Global bond issuance topped 4 trillion US dollars by late July, up from 3.5 trillion a year earlier. Brazil plans to issue its first panda bond later this year, following Portugal which became the first eurozone government to sell a dim sum bond in April.
