Iran claims ballistic missiles struck USS Abraham Lincoln, Pentagon denies any hit

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claims it fired four ballistic missiles at the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier on March 1, 2026, stating the strike temporarily grounded the ship’s fighter jets. US Central Command swiftly denied the claim, saying no missiles hit the carrier and that the projectiles never approached it. No independent verification had emerged as of mid-August 2026. The IRGC also issued a 30,000 dollar bounty for the capture or killing of US troops. The USS Abraham Lincoln has continued active operations in the region and has been linked to US military operations supporting strikes on Iranian targets in early 2026.
