Oracle’s Project Jupiter, a massive data center complex in Dona Ana County, New Mexico, faces a nearly six-month delay after the New Mexico State Land Office denied the Green Chile Project pipeline permit for the second time. The new target in-service date for the 17-mile natural gas pipeline is February 1, 2027, pushed back from August 15, 2026. The pipeline, operated by Energy Transfer LP, is designed to deliver up to 400 million cubic feet of natural gas per day to power Bloom Energy fuel cells at the facility. Oracle insists the data center itself remains on schedule and highlights the creation of 4,000 construction jobs, 1,500 permanent positions, and a $50 million commitment to local water system improvements. If a third permit application is denied, the entire pipeline route may need to be reconsidered.
