DeepSeek has officially launched its V4 Pro model with 1.6 trillion total parameters and 49 billion active parameters per token. The model is released under an MIT license, making it one of the largest open-weight AI systems ever made available. It directly competes with proprietary models from OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic while being freely accessible for modification, fine-tuning, and commercial deployment. V4 Pro features a 1 million token context window and uses a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture. The model is available across web platform, mobile app, and API with Responses API support and Codex integration.
