Congress Pushes Odds of a Government Shutdown to December as Bitcoin Watches

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a temporary funding bill on July 21 by a 220-205 vote, pushing the funding deadline from September 30 to December 4. The Senate then passed its own version on August 8 by a 90-6 vote, extending funding through December 11. The two versions still need to be reconciled, but the risk of an October shutdown now appears reduced. For Bitcoin traders, the real stakes are shifting to December, after the midterm elections. Bitcoin remained below $65,000 on August 12, having briefly reached around $65,200 earlier in the week.
