US authorities sanctioned Shelbit and Aban Tether, two Iranian-linked crypto platforms, for facilitating transactions tied to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. According to TRM Labs, over $6.3 billion flowed through Shelbit wallets over a 23-month period, with monthly volume exceeding $600 million in the second half of 2025. The investigation also uncovered $318 million connected to Russia’s A7 payment network, which was targeted by US sanctions in August 2025. The network operated primarily through Tron and the USDT stablecoin, accounting for 88% of traced transactions, without accumulating residual balances in its wallets, suggesting a settlement model rather than a conventional exchange.
