SpaceX saw its stock fall to approximately 4% above its $135 IPO price after the first tranche of its staggered lockup schedule expired on August 6, 2026, making roughly 911.5 million shares eligible for sale. The publicly traded float doubled in a single day, jumping from 4.9% to 11.8% of total shares outstanding. The stock had briefly cleared $200 in June before sliding to around $130, representing a drawdown of roughly 50% from peak. Elon Musk and major early backers remain subject to a 366-day lockup restriction.
