President Donald Trump is considering firing Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook. A White House aide, Dan Scavino, sent her a letter on Wednesday accusing her of making false statements on mortgage agreements. The Supreme Court ruled in June, 5-4, that she could not be removed while litigation was pending. Cook’s lawyer Abbe Lowell said the allegations are as baseless now as they were a year ago and that she would challenge this latest attempt. Cook has three weeks to respond.
