Kioxia Beats Japan’s Next-Best Stock 4x Over. Success or Bust?

Share

Kioxia Holdings has surged 2,000% over the past year, nearly four times the performance of Japan’s second-best stock, AIMECHATEC, which gained 540.30% over the same period. This rally, driven by explosive demand for NAND flash memory used in AI data centers, saw the stock rise more than 500% in 2025 alone, briefly making Kioxia Japan’s most valuable listed company. Disappointing guidance released in late July, with quarterly operating income of ¥1.89 trillion below expectations, triggered a roughly 65% pullback from the June peak. The stock fell an additional 9% in the latest session, illustrating the sector’s volatility. Analysts remain divided: fourteen firms maintain a buy rating versus one sell rating, and Kioxia’s next earnings report will be key to determining whether this is a technical correction or a trend reversal.
