US dollar expected to maintain strength despite yen intervention: Reuters poll

A Reuters poll indicates that the US dollar is expected to retain its strength, with Japanese yen interventions having a limited impact on altering this trend. The yen, currently at about 158 per dollar, is expected to see minimal movement against the robust dollar over the next year. Japan’s first FX intervention in nearly two years provided only a temporary boost, as the dollar has risen by 1.05% over the past month and 3.49% over the past year. This resilient dollar strength is also influencing gold price predictions for August 2026, with scenarios suggesting lower gold prices being consistent with the dollar’s firm position.
