Chelsea stares down a £33M loss as Monaco circles for injury-plagued Lavia

Chelsea paid approximately £58 million for Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia from Southampton in August 2023. Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, the 22-year-old has never completed a single full match due to a cascade of injuries. Monaco is currently preparing a £25 million offer, representing roughly a 57% discount on what Chelsea originally paid. The London club has rejected the bid and does not want to accept a deal that would lock in a loss exceeding £30 million.
