The odds of the CLARITY crypto legislation passing have dropped to 27% on Polymarket, down from a peak of 82% in February, as four key officials leave their positions at the US Treasury, White House, SEC and Senate. Tyler Williams, Principal Adviser to Secretary Scott Bessent on blockchain and digital asset policy, left his post on July 31 and is returning to the private sector. Harry Jung also departed the White House Crypto Council he coordinated, while Hester Peirce, who leads the SEC Crypto Task Force, will leave later this year, and Senator Cynthia Lummis, a co-author of the bill, announced she will not seek re-election. The CLARITY Act, which cleared the Senate Banking Committee by a 15-9 vote, still needs 60 Senate votes to survive a filibuster, in a calendar complicated by the midterm elections.
