A solo Bitcoin miner solved block 960,804 in the early hours of Monday, netting a reward worth approximately $200,000. The payout was 3.16 BTC, comprising the 3.125 BTC subsidy plus 0.03 BTC in fees from 4,243 transactions. It was the 317th solo block found through CKPool, a platform that allows miners to point their hardware at its infrastructure without running their own full Bitcoin node. The lucky miner operated a wildly variable, presumably rental, hashrate peaking at 100 PH/s, representing roughly 0.011% of the network and odds of solving a block estimated at once every 64 days. Bitcoin was trading at around $63,700 on Monday.
