Tether Reports $1.5B Q2 Profit as USDT Supply Grows, Gold Holdings Rise

Tether reported approximately $1.5 billion in net operating profit for Q2 2026, a nearly 50% increase compared to Q1 2026. The company held about $187.75 billion in assets against approximately $183.64 billion in liabilities, leaving a reserve surplus of roughly $4.11 billion. USDT in circulation reached $184.6 billion, pushing its market share above 60% despite an overall contraction in the stablecoin market. Tether also increased its gold holdings to more than 146 metric tons by adding 14 metric tons during the quarter, and reduced its secured lending exposure by $2.38 billion, or 15%.
