Aave to exit Sonic, Scroll, Aptos, and three other blockchain markets affecting $98 million in supplied assets

Aave is exiting six blockchain markets, including Sonic, Scroll, Aptos, zkSync, Metis, and Soneium, as part of a broader effort to reduce economic and technical risk. The changes affect $98.1 million in supplied assets and $15.6 million in outstanding debt. The protocol will deprecate 50 low-activity reserves and orderly wind down these six complete deployments. Deposits on these markets have declined between 74% and 95% over six months, and the generated revenue no longer covers maintenance costs. The shutdown process will be gradual, with reserves frozen and reserve factors increased to 99% to encourage users to withdraw their funds.
