Federal Reserve holds rates steady as inflation concerns mount ahead of next meeting

The Federal Reserve held the federal funds rate at 3.50-3.75 % at its latest meeting, with PCE inflation projections revised sharply upward from 2.7 % to 3.6 %. June’s Consumer Price Index did fall 0.4 % month-over-month, providing temporary relief. Bitcoin dropped 2-4 % following the June FOMC meeting, trading between $63,400 and $64,800 in late July 2026. High rates make fixed-income instruments more competitive against volatile digital assets and tend to strengthen the dollar, suppressing global demand for crypto.
