Crypto Hacks Hit Record 212 Incidents in H1 2026: Blockaid

Crypto hacks reached a record 212 incidents in the first half of 2026, with over 1.1 billion dollars stolen across verified exploits, according to Blockaid’s H1 2026 Onchain Security Report. This represents the highest incident count on record for any half-year. Dollar losses remained below the same period in 2025, when the 1.5 billion dollar Bybit theft alone dwarfed all other incidents combined. Operational security attacks, including compromised keys and signing infrastructure, accounted for 74 percent of stolen funds. A North Korea-linked cluster was responsible for 55 percent of total losses, or approximately 609 million dollars, Blockaid reported.
