Israel’s security cabinet has approved the entry of an International Stabilization Force into parts of Gaza, marking the most concrete step yet in a US-backed peace plan. The multinational force authorized under UN Security Council Resolution 2803 could include up to 20,000 troops and police personnel, commanded by Major General Jasper Jeffers of the United States. Delays in securing commitments from other contributing countries are complicating the deployment timeline and creating an unstable transition period. For crypto investors, if the ISF deployment stabilizes Gaza, it removes a tail risk that has been weighing on macro models since late 2023; if the deployment stalls, markets could experience a brief risk-off move followed by recovery.
