Datavault AI has been unable to withdraw the approximately 817.61 BTC it holds on the Biconomy exchange since June, representing more than $65 million at the current bitcoin price. The company received 1,309.04 BTC through a $150 million agreement with Scilex in 2025 before selling 491.431 BTC back to the same company for around $40.5 million. The lockup triggered a more than 50% decline in the company’s shares, which now trade just above $0.06, and prompted Datavault AI to forecast reductions in reported assets of $92.2 million for December 2025 and $49 million for June 2026. Datavault AI is now considering whether it can continue operating as previously planned because it had relied on the bitcoin as a key source of liquidity. The reason for the withdrawal problem remains unclear, although the immediate impact on bitcoin’s price is limited; the incident nevertheless raises questions about the liquidity of corporate bitcoin holdings and Datavault AI’s risk of insolvency.
