According to an Elabe survey conducted by BFMTV among 1,001 French people, 61% believe they must protect themselves, while 37% say law enforcement remains capable of protecting the population. Half of those surveyed expressed concern for their physical safety or the safety of their property, a proportion higher among women (53%) than men (43%). The survey also found that this concern affected 61% of National Rally voters, compared with 22% of New Popular Front voters. cryptocurrency holders are particularly concerned about kidnappings and abductions, with the Ministry of the Interior recording 90 cases in 2026 despite 223 arrests and 126 people detained between January and July, prompting some individuals to relocate or strengthen the protection of their assets with hardware wallets.
