Multiple dormant Bitcoin wallets moved their coins in late August 2024 after years of inactivity. Galaxy Research reported that a wallet containing 10 BTC received on June 17, 2011, moved its coins on August 29 in block 964,539 after 15.2 years of dormancy, valued at approximately $777,000 with a realized gain of roughly 503,364%. On August 28, more than 2,504 BTC that had not been active for three to five years also moved on-chain. This remarkable activity around older coins is being closely watched by market participants following the recent BTC rally, although the movement of dormant coins does not necessarily mean a sale.
