A Bitcoin wallet inactive since September 2013 transferred 411.45 BTC, worth $33.4 million, to a brand new native SegWit address on Sunday, October 18. These funds were among 39,069 addresses claimed by anonymous plaintiff ‘Noah Doe’ before New York courts on the grounds they are abandoned, totaling 3.8 million BTC or roughly 19% of circulating supply. This transfer is far from isolated: since the lawsuit was filed in March 2026, dozens of addresses on the list have awakened, collectively moving over $160 million. The 411 BTC operation cost only 27 cents in fees and shows no sign of imminent sale. Bitcoin was trading at $82,000 on Tuesday evening, with one in six bitcoins having been dormant for over ten years.
