A wallet containing 100.02 BTC mined in July 2010 transferred its funds on October 7, 2026, ending more than 16 years of inactivity. These coins were worth approximately $6 when mined and nearly $8.5 million at the time of transfer, with bitcoin trading around $82,500. Galaxy Research flagged the transaction and tracked the funds split between two new wallets: 10 BTC and 90.02 BTC. No funds were sent to an exchange and no link to Satoshi Nakamoto has been established. This operation is part of a wider trend of reactivation of long-dormant bitcoin in 2026.
