Younger Democrats Understand Clarity Act And Bill Should Pass, Says Coinbase’s Chief Policy Officer

Faryar Shirzad, Coinbase’s Chief Policy Officer, said Friday on The Hill’s morning Rising show that the Clarity Act should pass despite opposition from some older Democrats. He called crypto « maybe the most bipartisan issue in Washington », adding that opposition is generational and that younger Democrats understand the technology. Approximately 67 million Americans own crypto according to him. The latest draft bans officials and their families from issuing or promoting crypto. The bill has been stalled this year partly due to banking chiefs’ concerns over stablecoin yield and ethics. If passed, the Clarity Act would establish definitive digital asset regulation in the world’s largest economy.
