Crypto Hacks Drain $1.1B in First Half of 2026 Amid 212 Security Incidents

Crypto hacks drained $1.1 billion across 212 security incidents during the first half of 2026, according to a Blockaid report. Four major attacks targeting KelpDAO, Drift, Resolv, and CoW Swap accounted for roughly $707 million in losses. North Korean group TraderTraitor, linked to Lazarus, was responsible for $609 million, or 55% of total losses. Privileged key misuse remained the costliest attack vector at $790 million, while monthly incidents rose from 18 in January to 57 in June.
