Yossi Cohen appointed strategic advisor at SoftBank as fund pivots toward AI

Yossi Cohen, former director of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, has been appointed strategic advisor at SoftBank, placing him closer to Masayoshi Son’s inner circle. He will now oversee global investments in artificial intelligence, data centers, cloud processing, and semiconductors. During his tenure leading Israeli operations, he managed Vision Fund investments in cybersecurity firm Wiz, whose valuation rose from 12 to 32 billion dollars. SoftBank recorded an 8.2 billion dollar profit from its Intel investment in Q2 2026. The Vision Fund also saw a 1.7 billion dollar valuation increase driven by performance in ByteDance and OpenAI-related holdings.
