XRP Joins Ether, Solana in $369 Million Liquidation Wave Amid SEC Blockchain Overhaul

Share

XRP led a $369.67 million crypto liquidation wave on Wednesday, dragging Ether and Solana down amid broader market pressure. Bitcoin retreated to $77,200-$77,600, Ether to $2,410-$2,430, and Solana fell below the $100 psychological level to $98.47, pulling total crypto market capitalization down to $2.59-$2.70 trillion. The SEC officially proposed a complete overhaul of transfer agent rules to adapt them to public blockchains, tokenized stocks and artificial intelligence, with a September 17 roundtable bringing together BlackRock, Nasdaq, NYSE, Citadel Securities and Robinhood to discuss round-the-clock stock trading. Rising WTI crude oil prices above $90 per barrel and 10-year Treasury yields at 4.78-4.79% raised the probability of a Federal Reserve rate hike on September 16 to 66%, resulting in forced closures for over 90,000 leveraged traders.
